Book Review: The House in the Cerulean Sea – T.J. Klune

The story follows Linus Baker, a regular run-of-the-mill office goer. Being a stickler for the rules, and not asking questions, has kept him adequately satisfied with his life. He works as a case-worker looking into the running of government sanctioned orphanages for magical youth. His world is turned upside down when he is tasked to investigate an orphanage on a remote island with some very interesting people residing there.

This book made me laugh, cry, and feel the warm fuzzies so often that I really didn’t want it to end. It had been a while where a book was so effortless to read. The characters are loveable, and the story heartbreaking while at the same time heart warming. This was a book I didn’t know I needed. I picked this book up based on the recommendation of a friend during one of the many clubhouse book rooms I had attended. This was easily one of my favourite books to read in 2021.

This was my first T.J. Klune novel and I can safely say won’t be my last. 100% will recommend to anyone who just wants to feel good. Until next time!

Cheers!
