This weekend we decided to visit the local oxfam bookstore to see if they had any secondhand books that we could add to our collection at home. I came away with the few you see in the image. David Gibbins’ The Pharaoh, and The Tiger Warrior I hadn’t heard of before but since I’ve been on a Matthew Reilly binge of late, the premise of these books caught my attention. A copy Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code had to be added to the basket since this is an older copy and so has little to nothing about the movie marring its cover. Two old copies of Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World and Joan D. Vinge’s Snow Queen. I’ve read Brave New World before and I’m a sucker for collecting different editions of the same book. Snow Queen has been on my tbr for a while now so getting a hold of this old edition was a stroke of luck. How to by Randall Munroe was going pretty cheap and the reason for it was the first page had a section cut out. Seemed like someone wanted to keep the message they had received in the book. Oh well, that’s good for me I suppose as this is a very nice book to have. Finally, I picked up Tom Clancy’s Clear and Present Danger. I hadn’t read the book before but I remember watching the movie as a kid and enjoying it. This can join Tom Clancy’s Red Storm Rising which I have sitting at home.

So that was the book haul for this month. Feel free to let me know if you’ve read any of these books and whether you liked them or not. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Until next time!
