Book Review: Salvation of a Saint (Detective Galileo #2) – Keigo Higashino

I picked this up on whim and I’m so glad I did. This is second book in the Detective Galileo series from Keigo Higashino. Well, at least this is the next of those books translated to english. Turns out there are several (goodreads says 9) books within the series and only a few have been translated. The first one I read was ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’ and I was blown away by how good that book was. This book is no different. The story is very easy to follow but not slow by any means. The author always keeps us interested and guessing as to what’s going to happen next, and before you know it you’ve reached the end of the book. This is one of those books that, had I not had other pressing matters to attend to, I would have finished in one sitting. I know the year just started but I foresee this to be in my top 5 books of the year. I would easily recommend this to anyone looking for a light mystery read. This is the exact kind of book I’d have to wanted to pick up during my reader’s block.

Definitely recommended.

Rating: 4/5
